Work by Haley McAfee Reid

  • Haley is a visual artist and musician. Born in Jedburgh and now based in Hawick in the Scottish Borders, she lives with her wife and their fur baby Mia. She studied an HNC Art and Design at Borders College in 2005 and in 2006 an HNC Graphics and Design. In 2016 she returned to study a BTEC in Art and Design.

For as long as she can remember she has loved to be creative, with a preference for painting landscapes in acrylic, though she enjoys experimenting with different mediums. She just lets the brush do the talking, painting until it feels time to stop.

  • Motivation

Haley is inspired by nature, being lost in the hills, exploring ruins and dramatic landscapes. She sees the Scottish Borders as a magical area with much to see everywhere one looks. Music is also a massive inspiration along with walking and history.
