About Wendy Patterson
-
It would be hard to say which love came first for Wendy Patterson – art or animals. In any case, both passions have been a significant part of her life for as long as she can remember.
Born and brought up in the beautiful Scottish Borders, Wendy finds endless artistic inspiration in the native wildlife. She also loves to draw and paint people’s beloved pets, enjoying the challenge of capturing something special that makes every animal unique.
-
One of her first commissions was to paint a mural featuring a glorious Unicorn on a friend’s bedroom wall. Since then, she has worked in several formats, from paper to canvas to slate and in different media including coloured pencils and ink.
Her love of nature has also been expressed in a series of children’s books, which she has written and illustrated. The books are aimed at younger children and tell the tales of various native animals in a fun but always realistic way.
