Photographer

Chris Batchelor is a photographer based in Lauder.  She loves all types of photography, from portraits to weddings to animals, domestic and wild.  She can spend hours waiting in hides for her animal subjects to appear to create the perfect shot.

Work by Chris Batchelor

  • Chris lives and works in the Scottish Borders, taking photographs of people, places and, of course, animals. She loves wildlife photography and thinks nothing of spending long hours in a photography hide to catch squirrels and birds in their natural environment. She is lucky enough to have access to small and exotic animal photography workshops in a local sanctuary, where she has been able to capture the red-eyed tree frog with macro photography.

Chris was a registered nurse for many years and still works in the social care sector and has witnessed, and been motivated by, families coming together to create photo albums for their loved ones to show them the memories they share. She is gradually extricating herself from her day job to spend more time with her photography passions.

  • Motivation

Chris believes in the old saying “ a picture is worth a thousand words”. She loves taking photographs of special moments and of everyday moments just captured in time. We all have that photograph that makes us laugh, cringe or even cry as we remember precious moments spent with the people we love and cherish. She loves to be a part of creating these precious memories for people.
