About Emily Wen
-
Emily is an architect by profession and an artist by desire. She is a lover of art, history, and architecture and is classically trained in architecture through the Les Écoles des Beaux-Art method.
As an artist and a first generation Chinese American native New Yorker living in London, she gravitates towards the cultural richness of her roots, recreating Chinese traditional styled paintings.
She has a fascination for painting on thin and fragile rice paper which is not an easy medium to work in with a habit of disintegrating if overworked.
She also carries out commissions and would be happy to discuss any ideas with you.

Motivation
Emily believes the best tool is our hand - everything starts from within, to create beauty without.
Her creative endeavours include traditional art and design methods such as drawing, watercolouring, traditional Chinese painting, pottery, and “creating” all together!
